PROMISING NEW SCARY MOVIES FOR HORROR FANS IN 2024

In the world of horror cinema, there are always exciting and haunting films on the horizon produced by top horror production houses like A24 Entertainment, Blumhouse Production, etc. There are different genres of horror movies available, but it is harder to find good flicks to watch and chill. This article introduces six upcoming horror movies for horror fans that are sure to thrill audiences in 2024. Imaginary:

As they settle in, Jessica's youngest stepdaughter, Alice, develops a peculiar attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey that she finds in the basement. Initially, the games Alice plays with Chauncey seem harmless, but they gradually take a sinister turn. As Alice's behaviour becomes increasingly concerning, Jessica steps in, only to discover that Chauncey is not just an ordinary toy bear.

Abigail:

"Abigail," directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, is another horror film to look out for. Distributed by Universal Pictures and produced by Project X Entertainment and Radio Silence Productions, this movie promises a thrilling experience for fans of films like M3GAN.

Coming to theatres on April 19, 2024, the movie tells the story of a group of criminals who unknowingly kidnap the 12-year-old daughter of a powerful underworld figure. Trapped in an isolated mansion, the criminals soon discover that their victim is not an ordinary little girl. Their plan takes an unexpected turn when they realise that their young captive is actually a bloodthirsty vampire, turning their plans awry.

Terrifier 3:

Fans of the Terrifier franchise will be thrilled to know that "Terrifier 3" is set to hit theatres on October 25, 2024. Directed by Damien Leone, this slasher film features the return of Art the Clown as he wreaks havoc on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County on Christmas Eve. With a budget of 20 million USD, this film promises to deliver spine-chilling chaos.

Next, we have "The Backrooms," an upcoming film slated for release in 2024, which is a remarkable achievement for 17-year-old filmmaker Kane Parsons. Known for his popular YouTube channel, Kane Pixels, Parsons has been given the opportunity to direct an A24 movie. Based on his own creepypasta YouTube series called "The Backrooms," this film is a collaboration between Parsons and Roberto Patino, the creator of "DMZ," who served as the executive producer. The film explores the collection of stories and eerie world of "The Backrooms" and promises to captivate audiences. A24, Chernin Entertainment, 21 Laps Entertainment, and Atomic Monster are the production companies behind this project, which was filmed during the summer under Parsons' direction.

Cuckoo:

Written and directed by Tilman Singer, this upcoming German horror film features a stellar cast, including Hunter Schafer, Dan Stevens, and Jessica Henwick. With elements of horror, thriller, and mystery, the story follows 17-year-old Gretchen, who, after moving to an alpine resort, must unveil a conspiracy to protect herself and her sister from a mysterious woman.

Liza Frankenstein:

Lastly, we have "Liza Frankenstein." This captivating coming-of-age tale is a horror comedy film that explores the unusual romance between a misunderstood teenager and her crush, who happens to be a reanimated corpse. Directed by Zelda Williams in her feature-length directorial debut and written by Diablo Cody, the film stars Kathryn Newton, Cole Sprouse, Liza Soberano, Henry Eikenberry, Joe Chrest, and Carla Gugino. It is set to provide audiences with a unique blend of horror and humour.
