Talking about trekking, it is a great way to stay physically fit. And what way to get healed physically, mentally, and spiritually, than to unite with nature and its peaceful environment? The start of every journey brings a kind of hope and enthusiasm. So, I bring forth 4 worthy trekking paths to trek in the realms of Arunachal Pradesh.
Top and most popular trekking trails in Arunachal Pradesh-
Lake trekking in Dibang Valley District:
Seven Lake trekking trail covers the mystique scenery and seven breathtakingly beautiful high-altitude lakes concealed by the stunning hills of the Anini region. The trek covers up to an elevation of almost 4000 meters into the mighty glaciers of the Dibang Valley District.
The trek starts from Anini (the district headquarters of Dibang Valley), followed by arriving in location; Imungu (Camp 1) and then visiting the lakes scattered across the hills thereafter, one after another until the last location in Mele.
As conditions in the monsoon and winter seasons are a bit unpredictable and prone to natural accidents, the best time to experience this trek will be in spring and summer. One can complete the entire trekking in under 3 to 6 days depending on the situation and enthusiasm, but it's always reasonable to be prepared and safe out there in the wild.
Talle Valley trekking in Lower Subansiri District:
The Trek covers three distinct valleys of the Lower Subansiri district, the Talle Valley, the Ziro Valley, and the Pangey Valley. Talley Valley trekking brings us to the majestic panorama of the Ziro Valley where one can trek and enjoy the eye-soothing pleasures delivered within its wilderness. The trekking trail also never fails to impress the hikers with a myriad of floras and faunas along its path to the Talley Valley Wildlife Sanctuary.
Any time is acceptable to travel in Arunachal Pradesh but because safety and life matter first in these outdoor activities, it is best advised to experience this trek in Spring and Summer, or anytime when it is dry, but never in monsoon.
Menchuka trekking in Shi-Yomi District;
Menchuka is a magnificent and popular region that not only the tourists out of State but the local Arunachalees also have a soft corner for, as a must-visit spot after Tawang and other regions.
The pristine Menchuka Valley trekking covers many sites along its treasure trove forests with several varieties of flora and fauna thriving in its natural habitat. The eye-catching and majestic monasteries built on the top of the hills will surely expose you to tranquility. There are sufficient activities and enough climbing up and down that one can experience to feed their adrenaline waves.
Trekking in Menchuka Valley is a must-do adventure for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts. The best time to visit is anywhere against the odd weather of rain and monsoon season but to be precise, i.e. October to March.
Gorichen peak trekking in Tawang District
When discussing Arunachal Pradesh in terms of travel destination, Tawang is probably the first name (of the regions) that pops up in one's (mostly outsider,) mind even more than the State's capital, Itanagar. Tawang is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the state, and rightfully so. The region is packed with dense forests with various wildlife habitats within its vicinity, and a picturesque backdrop with crystal clear lakes and rivers in between the snow-capped mountains. Since Tawang is a much sought-after and popular site, there are plenty of recreational activities one can perform when in town.
The Gorichen (Tsa-Nga-Phu in Monpa) peak trek is one activity you can experience. Not only is the charm of Tawang town popular amongst the tourists, but Gorichen peak is also one of the most discussed spots among mountaineers and climbing enthusiasts. The peak situated in Tawang District is the highest in Arunachal Pradesh at an elevation of 6858 meters and about a distance of 164 kilometers from Tawang township. It is a glacier-fed mountain that stays covered in snow almost throughout the year.
It is advised by the experts that the best time to experience the trek is between pre-monsoon and post-monsoon season. Note: this trek is primarily for professional-level trekkers because of its high-level risky and difficult routes.
The end of every journey gives you the immense pleasure of making memories along the way.
Trekking is a lifestyle, that brings more light over darkness. It heals your mind, body, and soul on a natural therapeutic level. You won't find peace anywhere else as much as you find peace when you are on the top, the top of a mountain. So, get these lists to squeeze into your itinerary for your next big but cheap travel venture. Visit Arunachal Pradesh.
