Dambuk Orange Festival: Where Adventure Meets Music, and Oranges Rule the Valley
Nestled
amid the lush hills of Arunachal Pradesh’s Lower Dibang Valley, the small town
of Dambuk transforms every winter into a vibrant playground of sound, speed,
and citrus energy. The Dambuk Orange Festival of Adventure and Music (OFAM) is
not just a festival, it’s a phenomenon that brings together the best of music,
motor sports, and culture, wrapped in the scent of its world-famous oranges.
Launched in 2013, OFAM has grown into one of Northeast India’s most anticipated events, attracting travellers, adventurers, and artists from across the country. It’s where off-roading meets rock concerts, and traditional dance meets contemporary rhythm all under Dambuk’s golden December sun.
2024: The 9th Edition - A Roaring Success
The
9th edition of the Dambuk Orange Festival of Adventure and Music, held from
13th to 15th December 2024, was nothing short of spectacular. From thrilling
races to unforgettable performances, Dambuk roared to life in a celebration of
spirit, sound, and community.
JK Tyre Presents Orange 4X4 Fury
One
of the biggest highlights of the 2024 festival was the JK Tyre Orange 4X4 Fury,
hosted at the iconic Poileng Trail Blazer. Off-roaders from across India took
on Dambuk’s challenging terrain, turning the valley into a roaring arena of
grit and glory. The event was graced by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who
applauded the participants and the festival’s growing impact on adventure
tourism in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Ultimate Orange-Eating Challenge
Adding
a juicy twist to the excitement was the Orange-Eating Challenge, where
contestants battled for the quirky and coveted title of “King/Queen of
Oranges.” It was messy, it was fun, and it perfectly captured the playful,
community-driven spirit of OFAM.
Adventure, Culture, and Music Unite
Beyond
the competitions, the festival delivered the perfect balance of adventure and
artistry:
●
Off-roading, river rafting, paragliding, and zip-lining thrilled
adrenaline seekers.
●
As dusk fell, the valley pulsed to the beats of renowned artists from
across India, delivering electrifying live performances.
●
Visitors soaked in the region’s rich culture, with traditional dance
showcases, local handicrafts, and mouthwatering indigenous cuisine all
accompanied by the irresistible sweetness of Dambuk’s famous Khasi-Mandarin
oranges.
What
to Expect in 2025: Bigger, Bolder, and Sweeter Than Ever!
After
the massive success of last year’s edition, the Orange Festival of Adventure
and Music is gearing up for an even grander celebration in 2025.
The
10th edition will take place from 11th to 14th December 2025 at Dambuk,
Arunachal Pradesh — and promises to take the festival experience to the next
level.
Expect:
●
An expanded music lineup featuring both top-tier performers and
emerging talents.
●
More adventure zones, including upgraded off-road tracks and outdoor
sports.
●
Immersive cultural experiences, with an even deeper focus on local
art, food, and heritage.
Whether

simply savour the freshest oranges in the Northeast, this year promises to be
the best one yet.
