Deputy Chief Minister holds this year’s last DLMC review meeting in Namsai district

With the year 2022 coming to an end, HDCM Chowna Mein in presence of HMLA Zingnu Namchoom, HMLA J. E. Deori and DC Namsai C R Khampa held the year's last DLMC Review Meeting with all heads of departments to take stock of all the ongoing and completed developmental projects of Namsai District. He advised to ensure completion of all projects as per the set target.


Expressing concern on the increasing cases of AIDS, the Deputy Chief Minister instructed the health department to initiate immediate treatment at Namsai district so that the patients do not have to cross the borders of the district to get treated. He also emphasised on organising awareness programs on containing AIDS.


Reminding everyone about the upcoming Parshuram Mela and Youth Conference of IFCSAP, he suggested that all preparatory measures should be in place and utmost precautions should be maintained especially during this time when there is a surge in Covid cases.


Touted to become the one of the biggest pilgrimage centres in the nation, Parshuram Kund in Lohit district is being developed under the Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) scheme. Devotees and tourists from all over the country flock to Parshuram Kund, a holy pilgrimage site in Arunachal. Under the PRASAD scheme, the site will be developed to enhance tourism and economic growth, as well as create employment opportunities for local residents. The development of the site under the PRASAD scheme will enhance tourism, economic growth and boost employment opportunities for the local communities. The upcoming Parshuram Mela is proposed to be celebrated in a grand and befitting manner. 


Mein also expressed concern about road accidents caused due to stray cattle at Mahadevpur and Momong area. He advised to seek involvement of local GBs and PRI leaders in containing this cattle menace.


In order to save wildlife, flora and fauna and to maintain eco balance he sought complete ban on hunting and fishing in the district. Further, he advised district administration to devise a method for mass plantation drive along with Forest Department every month all over the district and to work towards town beautification and a dust free environment.


Further, preliminary discussion of all required arrangements for the proposed visit of G20 delegates to Namsai in the month of March 2023 was also held.
