Special Vaccination Campaign 3.0 Launched Across Arunachal Pradesh

In a major push toward universal immunization, the Special Vaccination Campaign (SVC) 3.0 has been launched across various districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The campaign, running from March 17 to March 23, 2025, aims to enhance immunization coverage among children and adolescents, ensuring protection against preventable diseases.

With the motto “Vaccines Save Lives – Let’s Get Our Children Vaccinated Today & Protect Tomorrow!”, healthcare workers, district officials, and community leaders have come together to achieve >95% coverage for MR1, MR2, Td10, and Td16 vaccines.

Statewide Vaccination Efforts

Kurung Kumey

The District Health Society, Kurung Kumey, launched its vaccination drive at CTDH Koloriang, focusing on immunization for children aged 0-5 years. Healthcare workers, including nursing officers, ANMs, and AWWs, resolved to work together toward achieving full immunization targets.

Papum Pare

At Tigdo III AWC, the Papum Pare District Health Society inaugurated the campaign with a special emphasis on Td10 and Td16 coverage. The drive aims to reach a 95% target for MR1 and MR2 while ensuring that all eligible children receive their required doses.

Tawang

The Primary Health Center (PHC) Mogto was the site for the launch in Tawang, with healthcare workers mobilizing to vaccinate children who have missed out on their scheduled immunizations.

Upper Siang

At DH Yingkiong, the campaign was launched by Dr. Karo Teng, SMO & Medical Superintendent, in the presence of Dr. Nabo Borang, MO, ensuring that zero-dose children, as well as those missing MR1, MR2, and Td vaccines, are covered during the five-day immunization drive.

Namsai

In Namsai, Deputy Commissioner C.R. Khampa launched the campaign at Govt. Secondary School, Manmow, urging community participation to spread awareness about routine immunization. He highlighted that 12 vaccines are available under the immunization program to prevent serious diseases. The event saw participation from the District Health Society, UNDP representatives, and school authorities, with 25 students receiving Td10, two students receiving Td16, and one child receiving MR1 on the first day.

Leparada

The launch of SVC 3.0 at Todak Basar District Hospital, Leparada, was led by MLA Nyabi Jini Dirchi under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. The initiative marks a significant step towards achieving universal immunization, ensuring that all children and pregnant women receive essential vaccines.

Changlang

At District Hospital Changlang, Adv. Maihu Mamai (General Secretary, LES) & Er. Loptu Taiju (LES) inaugurated the drive, integrating TB elimination activities with the vaccination sessions.

Kamle

The campaign also reached Raga, Kamle, where local health officials mobilized efforts to achieve complete immunization coverage.

A Step Towards Universal Immunization

The Special Vaccination Campaign 3.0 aims to cover all zero-dose children who have missed out on pentavalent vaccines, as well as those due for MR1, MR2, Td10, and Td16 vaccines. The campaign’s goal is to ensure 100% Fully Immunized Coverage (FIC) among eligible beneficiaries.

With healthcare professionals, ASHA workers, district officials, and community leaders working tirelessly, Arunachal Pradesh is taking a giant leap toward a healthier future. Parents and caregivers are urged to participate actively and ensure their children receive life-saving vaccines during the campaign.
