Book Discussion on “In Between the Blurry Lines” Highlights Arunachal’s Role in Shaping India's Frontier
A thought-provoking book discussion was held at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, centered on the newly released title “In Between the Blurry Lines: 14 Defining Moments That Shaped Arunachal” by Shri Sonam Chombay. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from readers, scholars, and admirers of Arunachal Pradesh’s unique historical and strategic journey.
Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Pema Khandu, graced the occasion and lauded the book as a significant contribution to documenting the spirit and sacrifices of the people of Arunachal. “This book is more than a recollection of events—it is a tribute to our people's undying loyalty to the nation and their deep-rooted connection to the land,” said CM Khandu during his address.
Former Chief of Army Staff and ex-Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, General Joginder Jaswant Singh (Retd.), was also present at the event. He offered unique insights into the geopolitical and strategic importance of the region, adding gravitas to the evening’s dialogue.
The session was expertly moderated by Dr. Alok Bansal, Director of India Foundation, who guided the audience through the layered and often overlooked history of Arunachal Pradesh—from its resistance during the British era to its resolute stand during the 1962 Chinese incursion.
“In Between the Blurry Lines” revisits 14 pivotal chapters that shaped the political, cultural, and strategic landscape of Arunachal Pradesh. The book is a compelling narrative of courage, identity, and resilience that reflects the larger story of India’s northeastern frontier.
The event reaffirmed Arunachal Pradesh’s critical place in India’s national consciousness and highlighted the importance of capturing local histories to strengthen national unity.
