Arunachal Pradesh to Host the 77th Santosh Trophy National Football Championship (2023–24)
Arunachal Pradesh has been chosen to host the 77th National
Football Championships for the Santosh Trophy in 2023–2024, which is a historic
achievement for the state as well as the entire northeastern region of India.
The statement, which was issued by the Arunachal Pradesh Federation of
Associations (APFA), highlights the state's rising stature in the sports world.
This year's Santosh Trophy finals are scheduled to take place in the scenic
city of Itanagar in the months of November and December, making Arunachal
Pradesh the first northeastern state to host the event.

Additionally, the AIFF announced that the Santosh Trophy Group Stage, a crucial
preliminary to the finals, will take place between October 6 and October 20,
2023. These group stages will be hosted by six associations, including the Goa
Football Association, Punjab Football Association, Uttar Pradesh Football
Sangh, Assam Football Association, Services Sports Control Board, and Western
India Football Association (Maharashtra), which collectively represent the
various footballing regions of India. In addition, Arunachal Pradesh, which
will host the final rounds, will not take part in the group stages.

Hosts: Goa Football Association
Teams: Kerala, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh,
Jammu & Kashmir.
Group B:
Hosts: Punjab Football Association
Teams: Punjab, Haryana, Odisha, Delhi, Ladakh, and West Bengal.
Group C:
Hosts: Uttar Pradesh Football Sangh
Teams: Manipur, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Nagaland, Uttar Pradesh,
and Madhya Pradesh.
Group D:
Hosts: Assam Football Association
Teams: Railways, Bihar, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Assam, and
Himachal Pradesh.
Group E:
Hosts: Services Sports Control Board
Teams: Services, Uttarakhand, Mizoram, Pondicherry, Sikkim,
Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman, and Diu.
Group F:
Hosts: Western India Football Association
Teams: Maharashtra, Telangana, Andaman & Nicobar, Andhra
Pradesh, Lakshadweep, and Tripura.

five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kolkata-based Kaleidoscope
Production and Services LLP (KPS). This collaboration, which materialised on
September 8th in Itanagar, paves the way for promoting state-level and
national-level competitions through digital broadcasting. Kipa Takum,
representing APFA, and Rajiv Mehra, MD of KPS LLP, formalised this MoU in the
presence of Kipa Ajay, Honorary Secretary of APFA, John Neelam, Vice President
of APFA, and other esteemed members and media representatives.
Starting with the current season, KPS will begin broadcasting
selected state and national competitions on its OTT platform under the banner
of India Football. As an example, KPS LLP recently televised all 2023 Durand
Cup games. This collaboration has the potential to catalyse digitization in
state football, increasing Arunachal Pradesh football's accessibility to a
wider audience and aiding future growth. Through high-quality digital

Lohit district, Arunachal Pradesh, has been selected as a part of the U-19
Indian Football Team for the SAFF U-19 Championship 2023. He is a bright young
football player who has achieved a great feat by being selected as one of the
final 23 players to play for the U-19 Indian football team at the upcoming SAFF
U-19 Championship 2023, which will take place in Nepal later this year.Along
with his fellow U-19 colleagues, Yash Chikro is presently engrossed in a
