Arunachal: International Yoga Day observed across the State
International Yoga Day was observed across the Arunachal Pradesh with a holistic approach, the Chief Minister Pema Khandu took part in the yoga session at Tawang and appealed to all to practice Yoga for balanced health and wellness in life.
1. Tawang
The International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great fanfare at Tawang Monastery, where the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Pema Khandu, graced the event by joining the yoga session with the students, Buddhist monks, and general public. Later on, HCM also joined with the 190 Mountain Brigade of the Indian Army and NCC cadets in their yoga session.
2. Namsai
Joining the rest of the world on the occasion of International Day of Yoga, the Namsai district organized a mass yoga session at the Golden Pagoda Temple. The event was graced by the Hon. Union Minister of RD Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, HDCM Shri Chowna Mein, Hon. MLA Shri Chau Zingnu Namchoom and other dignitaries.
3. Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Itanagar
The International Day of Yoga 2022 was celebrated with much pomp at the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Complex. The yoga session in APLA was joined by the Hon’ble Legislative Speaker, Shri Pasang Dorjee Sona, along with Hon’ble Textile and Handicraft Minister, Shri Tumke Bagra, Hon’ble MLA Shri Nyato Dukam, and APLA and ITBP officials.
4. Anjaw
The Himveers and Himveerangnas of the 25th Battalion of ITBP celebrated the 8th International Day of Yoga with great fanfare in the easternmost part of India, the Dong valley. The event there was graced by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Law and Justice, Shri Kiren Rijiju, who led the yoga session along with the first sunlight received.
5. Papum Pare
The 8th International Day of Yoga is being celebrated with much pomp by the Papum Pare district at the Community Hall, Doimukh. The Hon'ble MLA Shri Tana Heli Tara and DC Papum Pare Shri Sachin Rana (IAS) graced the event by joining the yoga session with the rest of the participants.
6. Lohit
The 8th International Day of Yoga, on the theme "Yoga for humanity", was observed at Amik Ringya Hall Tezu. The event was graced by Hon'ble MLA Shri Karikho Kri and attended by the Heads of Department, GBs, school students, and the general public. A total of 190 participants took part in the event, and the instructors from the Art of Living led the one-hour-long yoga session. The day was also observed at the Deaddiction center, Zonal General Hospital, where 50 participants took part, and 20 participants took part at the IYD event organized at Ayush Health and Wellness Centre, Danglat.
7. Kra Daadi
The Kra Daadi district observed the 8th International Day of Yoga 2022 with much pomp at the District Hospital, Palin. Many people, including hospital staff, youths, the general public, and HoDs of the district, actively participated in the yoga session, held to commemorate Yoga Day.
8. Lower Subansiri
The Lower Subansiri district celebrates the 8th International Day of Yoga near the beautiful Siikhe Lake in Ziro. The yoga session there was led by the Hon'ble Agriculture and Horticulture Minister, Er Tage Taki. Many denizens actively participated in the event to promote the ancient Indian art of healthy living.
9. Upper Siang
The 8th International Day of Yoga 2022 celebration organized by the District Administration witnessed a huge turnout of participants, including Hon’ble Health Minister Shri Alo Libang as Chief Guest, and HOs, staff, police personnel, CBOs, teachers, and students from several schools.
10. East Kameng
The 8th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with much pomp at several places in the East Kameng district. At one event, the yoga session was led by the CO, Smt. Pooza Sonam, and was attended by the district police and CRPF personnel, school students, including lower primary, Hod, and other dignitaries. The participants also pledge to spread peace, and love and create beautiful connections with nature.
11. Longding
In the Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh, the Hon’ble Lok Sabha MP Shri Tapir Gao, along with Hon’ble MLA Shri Tanpho Wangnaw, graced the celebration of the 8th International Day of Yoga 2022. The event at Longding was organized by the District Administration, where several participants in the yoga session.
12. Itanagar
Along with the rest of the world, the Arunachal Pradesh Police celebrated the International Day of Yoga with great fanfare across the state. In Itanagar, the yoga session was led by Arunachal Pradesh DGP Shri Satish Golcha wherein several police personnel as well as the general public actively participated in the event.
13. Lower Dibang Valley
Thousands of people of the Lower Dibang Valley district actively participated in the 8th International Day of Yoga celebration, organized at several places in the district. In the events held, the attendees were also sensitized to the benefits of yoga and pledged to practice yoga in their day-to-day lives.
14. Siang
The 8th edition of the International Day of Yoga has been widely celebrated in several places in Siang District. Yoga sessions were conducted, marking participation from the public of every age group in Boleng and Rumgong. In the 32-Rumgong constituency, the occasion was graced by the Hon’ble MLA, Shri Talem Taboh, who he joined in the yoga session with the rest of the participants.
15. West Kameng
The International Day of Yoga 2022 was observed with much pomp at the TDL Monastery Dirang in West Kameng district, organised by the Department of Tourism in collaboration with the District Administration. The event was graced by the Hon’ble MLA, Shri. Phurpa Tsering, wherein a total of 480 people actively participated, included the ITBP personnel, lamas and monks, police personnel, the general public, stakeholders, and students.
16. East Siang
Joining with the others, the East Siang district also held a yoga session in celebration of the 8th International Day of Yoga 2022. Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble MLA Shri Kaling Moyong also briefed the participants about the benefits of yoga and advised the participants to practice it regularly to live a healthy life. The event witnessed many participants, including district administration, councilors, PRI members, and other public.
17. Lower Siang
A day-long event to celebrate the International Day of Yoga was organized by the District Administration in collaboration with the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Lower Siang at the archaeological site, Malinithan, Likabali. Gracing the event, the Hon’ble MLA Shri Kardo Nyigyor expressed that through the event, the benefits of yoga should be reached to every denizen and everyone should practice yoga in their life.
18. Changlang
The 8th International Day of Yoga is celebrated by organizing yoga sessions at several places in the Changlang district. In the district headquarter, the event was held by the District Administration in collaboration with the 9th battalion of Assam Rifles at the Helipad Ground. The event there was graced by Deputy Speaker Shri Tesam Pongte, along with DC Changlang Shri Sunny K Singh. In Jairampur, the Hon’ble MLA Shri Laisam Simai joined the occasion as chief guest along with the ADC Miao, CO Jairampur, public leaders, 19th AR officials, officials, and students. In Miao, the Hon’ble Urban Development Minister, Shri Kamlung Mossang, graced the occasion as chief guest.
19. Kurung Kumey
In Koloriang, Kurung Kumey district, the Scouts and Guides of Govt Higher Secondary School and VKV Koloriang jointly celebrated the 8th International Day of Yoga by organizing a yoga session at the VKV School wherein many students as well as teachers of several schools actively participated.
20. Tirap
The Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh celebrated the 8th International Day of Yoga with great fanfare at the Helipad of the Assam Rifles Hq. The yoga session was attended by the DC Shri Taro Mize, Colonel Amit Kumar, and Hon’ble MLA Shri Wanglam Sawin. And most uniquely, the pets of the Jawans also actively participated in the event.
21. Dibang Valley
Along with the rest of the world, the Dibang Valley district celebrated the International Day of Yoga with great fanfare. The event was organized by Anini's Nehru Yuva Kendra, and many students, including small children, actively participated in the yoga session and promised to continue it at home.
22. Shi Yomi
With the theme "yoga for humanity", the District Health Society of Shi Yomi district organized a yoga session to commemorate the International Day of Yoga at the community hall in Tato. The event also has a sensitization program to educate the attendees about the benefits of doing yoga.
23. Kamle
The celebration for the 8th International Day of Yoga was organised by the District Administration, Kamle district, at the Raga Govt Higher Secondary School. The event witnessed many participants, including police personnel, HoDs, students, teachers, and the general public, actively practising yoga with the motto "health is wealth".
24. Lepa Rada
The Shi Yomi district observed the 8th International Day of Yoga 2022 with much pomp at the Multipurpose Cultural Hall, Basar. Many people, including hospital staff, youths, the general public, and HoDs of the district, actively participated in the yoga session, held to commemorate Yoga Day.
25. Pakke Kessang
The 8th International Day of Yoga is being celebrated with great joy by the Pakke Kessang at several schools in the district. Lots of participants, including, students, teachers, APP and IRBN personnel, HoDs, and the general public, took part in the yoga session, commemorating Yoga Day.
Upper Subansiri
The 8th International Day of Yoga was celebrated with much pomp at several places in the Upper Subansiri district. In the events held, the attendees were also sensitised with the benefits of yoga and pledged to practise yoga in their day-to-day lives.
West Siang
Joining with the others, the West Siang district also held a yoga session in celebration of the 8th International Day of Yoga 2022. The participants also pledge to spread peace, love and create beautiful connections with nature.
