Tourism as an industry is continuously expanding and is becoming essential to the state's economy and the country as a whole. Arunachal Pradesh is home to a plethora of tourist attractions. If you want to get away from the noise, hustle, and bustle of the city, the state's effective public transit system ensures that you are well within easy reach of peace and tranquility. It's a place where crime rates are relatively low in comparison to that of the other parts of the country and the people here are generally cordial and hospitable hence, it is an ideal place for tourists.

 Here, tourists can witness a unique blend of diversity such as the breath-taking natural environment, striking traditional cuisines, distinctive local cultures, and customs, etc. Due to the people's belief in preserving local identities, one can explore and appreciate both old and contemporary cultural heritage in the state.

 Arunachal Pradesh is a paradise for travelers who seek relaxation and new travel ventures. The location where it sits is like a song that will be imprinted in a traveler's mind and heart just after one visit. Concealed by the majestic mountains- some covered in wide white snow, some with lush-green forests, the state hosts several rare observed as well as undiscovered floras and faunas. Its turquoise and emerald-coloured mighty rivers will take anyone's breath away, one can set up a camp on the shore and listen to the sound of nature and tranquility.

 The state has relatively less pollution and its rich biodiversity produces clean and fresh air. It boasts various national parks, majestic mountain ranges, crystal clear lakes, and beautiful remote villages where one can stay in traditional wooden huts as guests of the residents and witness and enjoy their way of sustainable living.

And just when you assume that Arunachal Pradesh couldn't possibly have anything further to offer than the picturesque landscape, you find that the state has a jam-packed social calendar with a variety of festivals and events and that the residents are always celebrating. Arunachal Pradesh offers a diverse range of activities.

Cuisines you can try:

Pike Pilla of Apatanis, Chowmein, Thukpa, Momo of Monpas, Amin of Galos, Dinkio, Lukter/Luktir of the Tani tribes, Yak Churpis, Chambai of the Mishmis

Festivals you can attend, local festivals-

Arunachal Statehood Day, Si-Donyi, Nyokum, Dree, Mopin, Solung, Tamla-du, Sangken, Losar

Other festivals- 

Dambuk festival of orange, Ziro music festival, Siang festival/Yomgo river festival, Tawang festival, Arunachal Literature, and Art festival

 Apart from these, due to the diverse culture of the state, one can also witness the enthusiastic celebration of festivals such as Diwali, Holi, Christmas, and Durga Puja.

 Activities you can do: 

bird watching, paragliding, angling, trekking, mountaineering, river rafting 

Sites you can see are Ganga Lake, Ita Fort, District Museums, Zoo, Parshuram Khund, Dong village, Mayodia, Jaswanth Garh Memorial, Tawang Monastery 

 Wildlife exploration you can experience:

Sessa Orchid Sanctuary, Kamlang Forest Reserve, Namdapha National Park, Mouling National Park, Eagle's Nest Wildlife Sanctuary. There are 13 wildlife sanctuaries in Arunachal.

One can travel to Arunachal by private transport, bus, or train via Guwahati. Right now, Tezu and Pasighat have air connectivity through the Make in India Dornier aircraft along with helicopter service (selected route). Tourists will have to get an official document known as an Inner Line Permit to enter the state. You can apply it online or get it made at the check gate itself. Once you enter the state you can travel around the state with private or public transport. Accommodation is easily available with many cheap as well as luxurious hotels. Many people provide homestays too. There are also IBs and guest houses. 

Arunachal Pradesh is getting its new full-fledged airport soon, initially named the Greenfield Airport or the Hollongi Airport. At the time of this writing, CM Pema Khandu has proposed to officially amend its name to Donyi-Polo Airport to the airport authorities of India. This establishment will further enhance the tourism sector in Arunachal.
