Lieutenant Colonel Ponung Doming from the Corps of Engineers has been promoted to the rank of Colonel, becoming the first female officer from the state of Arunachal Pradesh to achieve this esteemed level of military rank. She will take over the command of a Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) in the strategically important sector of Leh.

As she takes over the command of a Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) in the strategically important sector of Leh, I am confident that she will continue to exhibit the same level of excellence and leadership that she has demonstrated throughout her career. Proud of Col Doming and wish her all the best in her future endeavors. Congratulations on a well-deserved promotion!”
